Freeze for a future
This winter, Simon is taking on a series of cold-water swims across Victoria and Tasmania to raise $15,000 for I Am Someone.
For many people, cold water is uncomfortable. Stepping into an icy bay or ocean requires courage, resilience and determination. Simon’s challenge is built around a simple idea: temporary discomfort can create lasting opportunity.
While a cold swim lasts only minutes, many vulnerable children face challenges that last years. Through education, healthcare, nutrition, safe housing and community support, I Am Someone helps children build brighter futures and break the cycle of poverty.
Because discomfort can teach us something.
Stepping into icy water is confronting. Every instinct says to turn back. But once you’re in, you discover resilience you didn’t know you had. Growth often happens when things feel difficult.
For many of the children supported by I Am Someone, challenges aren’t a choice. Poverty, loss, limited access to education and daily uncertainty create obstacles that no child should face alone.
A cold swim lasts minutes. The impact of support can last a lifetime.
Funds raised through Freeze for a Future will help I Am Someone continue providing education, healthcare, nutrition, safe housing and community support for vulnerable children.
